As the Chief Custodian of County Finance, one of the duties laid out by the Texas Public Funds Investment Act is that of the Investment Officer.
As County Treasurer, it is my duty to ensure the proper investment of County funds.
The priority of those investments is the safety of principal first, liquidity second and lastly, the yield received on that investment.
